Suriya, who is currently promoting his upcoming epic action film ‘Kanguva,’ recently surprised fans by sharing his admiration for a Malayalam film role he’d love to portray. During an interview with Gold FM, the Tamil superstar revealed that he’s been captivated by Fahadh Faasil’s performance as a local gangster in the 2024 comedy ‘Aavesham.’ Suriya spoke enthusiastically about the character, saying, “I really loved it. The direction was excellent, and Fahadh Faasil made me laugh. He constantly surprises the audience, keeping us guessing every moment.”

Fahadh played the role of Ranjith aka ‘Ranga’ Gangadharan, a local gangster with a comedic edge, in ‘Aavesham.’ Praising Fahadh’s performance, Suriya added, “I really like that surprise element. And of course, no one brings joy into films like he does. He's making wonderful films. An actor can give any kind of movie, and Fahadh continues to entertain people in theatres while also pushing boundaries for himself and for his film industry."

Directed by Jithu Madhavan and released in April, ‘Aavesham’ features an ensemble cast including Hipzster, Mithun Jai Shankar, and Roshan Shahnavaz. The project was produced by Nazriya Nazim, Anwar Rasheed, and Fahadh Faasil under the banners of Anwar Rasheed Entertainments and Fahadh Faasil and Friends.

Suriya’s is set to play a dual role in ‘Kanguva’—Kanguva and Francis Theodore. Set for a pan-Indian release on November 14, ‘Kanguva’ is directed by Siva and features an impressive cast with Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, and a cameo by Suriya's brother, Karthi.

With over 600 screens booked in Kerala, ‘Kanguva’ is anticipated to have one of the largest releases for a Tamil film in the state.
