Filmmaker SS Rajamouli has revealed the striking first look of Priyanka Chopra in his upcoming action-adventure GlobeTrotter (tentatively titled SSMB 29). The poster, which took social media by storm, shows Chopra standing on the edge of a cliff, dressed in a bright yellow saree, firing a gun at an unseen target — a portrayal far removed from the typical Bollywood heroine image.

Sharing the poster online, Rajamouli wrote, “The woman who redefined Indian cinema on the global stage. Welcome back, Desi Girl! Can’t wait for the world to witness your myriad shades of Mandakini.” Priyanka responded with, “She’s more than what meets the eye… say hello to Mandakini.”

Grand event planned to unveil film’s official title

The makers have announced a major launch event at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, on November 15, where the film’s official title will be revealed. The event will be live-streamed on JioHotstar, promising fans a visual spectacle as Rajamouli unveils his next cinematic universe.

Mahesh Babu, who plays the male lead, shared the poster on X, describing it as “the arrival of Mandakini,” while Prithviraj Sukumaran’s first look as the antagonist Kumbha was released earlier this month.

Rajamouli builds momentum with Kumbha reveal

Earlier on November 7, Rajamouli revealed Prithviraj Sukumaran’s look as the film’s “sinister, ruthless, powerful antagonist” Kumbha. In the poster, Prithviraj appeared in a wheelchair with robotic limbs, signalling a unique and menacing character design.

Rajamouli praised the actor, saying, “After canning the first shot with Prithvi, I told him he’s one of the finest actors I’ve ever known. Bringing life to Kumbha was creatively satisfying.”

An epic globe-spanning adventure in the making

GlobeTrotter, an action-adventure with mythological undertones, stars Mahesh Babu in a physically demanding role for which he reportedly performed all his stunts without a double. Filmed extensively in Kenya and Odisha, the project also marks Rajamouli’s collaboration with a new cinematographer, breaking from his long-time partnership with K K Senthil Kumar.

Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia W. Mudavadi confirmed that 95 per cent of the film’s African sequences were shot in Kenya, highlighting its scale and ambition.

Slated for release in 2027, GlobeTrotter is expected to blend history, mythology, and global action themes — setting the stage for Rajamouli’s next cinematic universe, with Priyanka Chopra’s Mandakini at its centre.
