‘Simply over the moon!’: Riya Shibu’s ‘Sarvam Maya’ gets a superstar seal of approval

Chennai: Actress Riya Shibu has said she is “over the moon” after receiving a gift hamper and a congratulatory note from actor Suriya and his wife Jyothika, praising her performance in the Malayalam blockbuster ‘Sarvam Maya’.

Sharing photographs of the hamper and note on social media, Riya thanked the couple for their gesture. “Simply over the moon!!!! Thank you so so much @Suriya_offl sir #Jyothika maa!! To take the time and effort to send me this hamper as a token of appreciation for my performance really means a lot to me. Accepting this on behalf of the entire team of #SarvamMaya,” she wrote.

In their note, Suriya and Jyothika commended her performance, saying they found it “so natural, impactful and a joy to watch”, and wished her continued success and many more memorable roles.

Directed by Akhil Sathyan, ‘Sarvam Maya’ has emerged as a major box office success, reportedly grossing over Rs 150 crore worldwide. The film has continued to perform strongly in cinemas even after its release on an OTT platform.

The horror-comedy also stars Nivin Pauly and Aju Varghese in key roles. Akhil Sathyan is the son of veteran filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad and has previously delivered critically acclaimed films including ‘Paachuvum Albhuthavilakkum’.

The film’s music was composed by Justin Prabhakaran, with art direction by Rajeevan and cinematography by Sharan Velayudhan Nair, known for his work in ‘Sookshmadarshini’.

Riya Shibu will next be seen in several upcoming projects, including ‘Athiradi’, starring Tovino Thomas. Tovino has described her character in the film as the “heart of the story”. Directed by Arun Anirudhan, ‘Athiradi’ also features Basil Joseph and Vineeth Sreenivasan in leading roles.
