Monica found her Chandler, but Courteney's real-life love story has reportedly taken different turn

For millions of Friends fans, Monica Geller believed in lasting love and happy endings. Off-screen, however, life has taken a different turn for the actor who brought the beloved character to life.
Courteney Cox and longtime partner Johnny McDaid have reportedly ended their relationship after spending more than a decade together.
According to reports, the ‘Friends’ star and the Snow Patrol musician quietly parted ways towards the end of 2025, bringing their 13-year romance to a close.
While the couple has not publicly addressed the reports, those close to them say the separation was peaceful and marked by mutual respect.
Throughout their relationship, Cox, 62, and McDaid, 49, managed a long-distance romance, splitting their time between the United States and the United Kingdom. Despite the geographical distance, they remained one of Hollywood's most private and enduring couples.
Sources quoted by the Mail on Sunday describe the breakup as amicable, adding that there is no bitterness between the former couple.
A friend reportedly shared that McDaid continues to speak fondly of Cox, saying they shared a deep bond and continue to care for one another. The source also suggested that the relationship naturally came to an end as their lives gradually began moving in different directions.
The pair have not been seen together publicly for several months. Their last known public appearance was at the men's final of the 2025 US Open Tennis Championships in New York, where they attended the event together in September last year.
Cox and McDaid first crossed paths in 2013 through mutual friend Ed Sheeran. McDaid, who has collaborated with Sheeran as a songwriter on chart-topping hits including Shape of You, Photograph, and Galway Girl, soon began dating the actor.
Their relationship experienced a significant hurdle early on. The couple became engaged but called off the engagement in 2015. They reconciled the following year and chose to continue their relationship without revisiting wedding plans.
Cox has previously spoken candidly about that difficult chapter. During an appearance on the Minnie Questions podcast in 2024, she recalled attending a therapy session with McDaid, where he unexpectedly ended their engagement at the very beginning of the session.
"I didn't know it was coming. We were engaged and I was so shocked. I was in so much pain," she shared on the emotional experience.
Despite overcoming that earlier setback and staying together for several more years, reports now suggest the couple have chosen to move forward separately.
Even so, those close to them maintain that the relationship ended on good terms, with friendship and respect remaining at the heart of their bond.
