Actor Nivin Pauly questioned by SIT over rape allegations

Actor Nivin Pauly has been questioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the rape allegations raised by a Neriamangalam-based woman. The SIT took detailed statements from the actor based on his concerns about what he describes as a conspiracy against him within the film industry.

The actor had earlier suggested that individuals from the Malayalam film industry may be behind the allegations. The controversy began after the release of the Hema Committee report, which led several actresses and others to come forward with allegations against various actors and directors. Nivin Pauly’s name was included among the accused. 

Accusations against Nivin

Nivin Pauly faces allegations claiming that he sexually assaulted the complainant, a native of Neriamangalam, in a hotel room in Dubai in November. She alleged that this followed a promise of a professional opportunity.

Nivin refuted these allegations and stated his intention to pursue legal action against the complainant. In response to the allegations, several individuals, including actor Vineeth Srinivasan, actress Parvathy Krishna, and Bhagath Manuel, provided evidence challenging the validity of the complainant’s claims.

Nivin had called for a comprehensive investigation into the origins of the harassment complaint, expressing his belief that a serious conspiracy may be involved, potentially implicating individuals within the Malayalam film industry.
