'One of my favourite actors': Kamal Haasan gets emotional talking about this Malayalam actor

Actor Kamal Haasan became emotional while speaking about the late actor Nedumudi Venu during a promotional event in Kochi for the upcoming release of 'Indian 2'. Venu played a key role in the film 'Indian', released in 1996, which was well-received in Kerala.
The veteran actor also expressed his appreciation for Kerala, emphasising the influence the Malayalam film industry has had on his career.
He remarked that attributing the label 'Made in Kerala' under his name would be fitting, acknowledging the contributions and support he received from Kerala throughout his journey in cinema. The actor pointed out that his Malayalam film 'Vishnu Vijayam', released in 1974, was distributed with just 15 prints in Kerala; in contrast, Indian 2 is being screened across 630 prints in the state.
Recalling his fond memories with Malayalam cinema legend Nedumudi Venu, Haasan shared, "Nedumudi Venu is the most beloved actor in Malayalam. Though he is not physically present, I feel his spirit here. He is one of my favourite actors in Malayalam."
Indian’, in which Kamal Haasan played the role of an Indian who fought against corruption, was released in 1996. Kamal Haasan also won the National Award for Best Actor for playing a double role in the film.
