Jagadish may become new AMMA Secretary; Executive meet postponed due to Mohanlal's unavailability

Kochi: The executive meeting of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed due to AMMA President Mohanlal being in Chennai.
On the other hand, discussions about appointing Jagadish as the new General Secretary are gaining momentum. There is growing support for Jagadish to take on the role, driven by his strong stance on recent issues within the organisation.
Jagadish has been vocal about addressing the serious allegations of sexual exploitation revealed in the Hema Committee report. He has argued that the issue should not be dismissed as an isolated incident and has called for legal action against those involved. He also emphasised the need for transparency and appropriate punishment for the accused.
There are also calls for a general body meeting to be convened soon to address these matters. There are also reports that there are plans to hold discussions with WCC members.
Meanwhile, a special committee investigating the sexual exploitation of women in the Malayalam film industry is expected to meet tomorrow. Following the release of the Hema Committee report, several individuals from the film industry have come forward with new allegations.
