Actor Fahadh Faasil is currently enjoying the limelight through the blockbuster film ‘Aavesham’. The movie went on to become the fifth-highest-grossing film of all time, earning over Rs 145 crore at the box office. ‘Aavesham’ is not the only one enjoying its success. ‘Premalu’, which he co-produced, has earned over Rs 131 crore to become the sixth highest-grossing film.

During an interview with Film Companion, Fahad opened up about the reasons behind his comeback to the film industry in 2009. Following a disappointing debut at the age of 20 in 2002, he moved to the US, where he pursued his studies, before returning in 2009 to act in the film Kerala Cafe (2009), conceived by director Ranjith.

"I came back to do two films and go back; everything else was a bonus," he said. Fahadh also revealed that he returned to the country for holidays and to renew his visa. To the interviewer’s question of whether he would have gone back if he had received the visa, Faasil commented, ‘I would have gone. I love that country. I have a strong bond with the country’.

At Ranjith's behest, director Uday Ananthan cast Fahadh in his Mrityunjayam, one of the 10 shorts in 'Kerala Cafe'. He played the role of a journalist in Mrityunjayam, a film set on a spooky old 'Mana'. He appeared in Sameer Thahir's directorial debut, Chaapa Kurishu (2011), a thriller in which he played the head of a construction business. The actor proceeded to solidify his position as a prominent figure in the following years, excelling not just in Malayalam but also in various other film industries. Fahadh is currently awaiting the release of Vettaiyan, a Rajinikanth-starrer action drama.
