Malayalam legendary actor Mammootty has spoken out on the escalating Iran–Israel–US conflict, expressing hope that humanity prevails despite growing global uncertainty. He made the remarks while inaugurating an event marking 50 years in cinema of noted filmmaker T V Chandran.

Addressing the gathering, the veteran actor reflected on the nature of conflict — both in cinema and in real life. Drawing a parallel between on-screen narratives and real-world events, he said wars often leave no true winners.

“There have been debates, arguments and even wars in cinema as well. Sometimes some people win, and sometimes both sides lose. Even now, a war is going on outside. We don’t know who will win. I wish for humanity to win,” Mammootty said.

His comments come at a time when tensions in West Asia have intensified following joint Israel–US military strikes on Iran. Reports have suggested that the attacks resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, further heightening global concern.
