Dhruv Vikram FINALLY breaks silence on personal-life scrutiny, says ‘I can’t say it hasn’t…’

Dhruv Vikram has opened up about dealing with scrutiny around his personal life, admitting that public attention can affect him while explaining how he keeps himself grounded.

At an India Today roundtable, the actor was asked how he handles the scrutiny that has surrounded his personal life in recent times. Dhruv acknowledged that he is not completely unaffected by it, but said knowing himself and staying close to what matters helps him deal with the attention.

“If I’m being honest, I can’t say it has never affected me,” Dhruv said.

He went on to explain that he tries to stay anchored in reality and remain clear about who he is and what he stands for. The actor also spoke about protecting the people he loves and the things that have meaning in his life.

“When you are aligned with the truth, and when you know what anchors you, scrutiny can only go so far,” he said.

Dhruv also described becoming more self-reliant when dealing with public attention. He said that, subconsciously, a person learns to become “an army of one”, while building a private space away from the noise around them.

“You have your own world; you do the inner work. You protect your bubble as much as you can,” he said.

The comments come at a time when Dhruv has been receiving increased attention online over his personal life. His name has been discussed widely on social media in recent weeks, particularly following conversations around his relationship history and his association with actress Anupama Parameswaran.

Anupama, meanwhile, spoke about her own past relationship during her recent conversation with Dhanya Varma. Without naming the person involved, she discussed her experience of being in a relationship that she described as narcissistic and controlling.

She spoke about having to seek approval for certain personal choices and reflected on how different it felt to make those decisions independently. Her comments also followed her return to Instagram after a break, where she wrote about being able to choose things such as song selections and captions without seeking anyone else's approval.

The discussion generated considerable online conversation, with social media users attempting to connect details from her comments to her past relationships. However, Anupama did not identify the person she was referring to in the interview.

Dhruv's latest remarks, similarly, do not refer to Anupama or address any specific claim about his personal life. His comments instead centre on the broader experience of being scrutinised and how he chooses to deal with it.

The actor also offered a glimpse into his relationship with social media. While he is not particularly active on Instagram, Dhruv said that he enjoys filming and editing videos featuring his father, niece and pets.

“I love to make these edits and shoot things,” he said, explaining that he often creates videos even though he does not necessarily post them.

Dhruv also teased the possibility that he could have a private Instagram account, telling the roundtable, “you’ll never know.”

The actor said his social media presence tends to increase during film promotions. Outside those periods, he prefers spending time reading or listening to music.

“It’s not a conscious decision,” he said of his disappearing from social media.
