BLACKPINK’s ‘Deadline’ comeback: Release date and key details so far

BLACKPINK have officially announced their comeback album Deadline, reigniting global excitement among fans after an extended period of individual projects by the members. The mini album is set to release on February 27 and represents the group’s first full return since Born Pink, signalling a new phase in their evolving career.

While YG Entertainment has kept most details under wraps, Deadline is expected to include the hit single Jump, which was released in July 2025. The track debuted at number one on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, further extending BLACKPINK’s record as the female act with the most chart-toppers on the Global Excl. U.S. ranking. The song later won Best Digital Song at the 40th Golden Disc Awards, setting strong expectations for the upcoming album.

Insights into the new era have largely come from the members themselves. In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, ROSÉ described the album as a creative reset, shaped by the time the members spent pursuing solo work. She indicated that the break allowed the group to return with renewed focus and stronger creative instincts, suggesting a fresh musical direction for BLACKPINK.

LISA has also teased the comeback, hinting at upcoming releases without revealing specifics, while YG Entertainment has confirmed that the album was completed late last year. JENNIE, JISOO, ROSÉ and LISA reportedly filmed a new music video between October and November, fuelling speculation that a new single could be released ahead of the album, though no official date has been announced.

Alongside the album release, BLACKPINK are preparing to resume live performances. The final leg of the Deadline World Tour begins on January 16 with three shows in Tokyo, before concluding in Hong Kong with concerts scheduled from January 24 to 26.

With a new album imminent, strong chart momentum behind them, and a major tour underway, Deadline is expected to mark a significant chapter in BLACKPINK’s global career and reinforce their position at the forefront of K-pop in 2026.
