Kochi: Producer Antony Perumbavoor has withdrawn his controversial Facebook post targeting G Suresh Kumar, Vice President of the Producers Association. The post, which criticised Suresh Kumar, has now been deleted following a notice from the Film Chamber of Commerce. The decision to remove the post comes after a discussion between Antony Perumbavoor, film producer Anto Joseph and Suresh Kumar, where they agreed to resolve their differences amicably.

Earlier, the Film Chamber of Commerce had issued a mandate requiring films scheduled for release after March 25 to obtain prior approval from the organisation before finalising contracts. This regulation, though presented as an industry-wide measure, had sparked speculation that it may be aimed at the upcoming highly anticipated sequel to 'Lucifer', titled 'L2: Empuraan', produced by Antony Perumbavoor and starring Mohanlal.

Film Chamber President BR Jacob clarified that after discussions between key stakeholders, including Perumbavoor, Suresh Kumar, and Anto Joseph, there was an understanding that no personal vendetta existed against 'Empuraan'.

The controversy began when Antony Perumbavoor reacted strongly to remarks made by Suresh Kumar at a press conference announcing a potential strike by the producers' association. Suresh Kumar had disclosed the budget for 'Empuraan', which angered Perumbavoor. The producer questioned whether Suresh Kumar had been influenced by certain individuals with vested interests and also raised concerns over his role in announcing matters related to the strike.

Film Chamber later sent Perumbavoor a formal notice requesting an explanation within seven days, the producer now chose to remove the post. This move indicates that the tension surrounding the issue may soon be resolved, with the possibility of the strike being called off. A potential strike, which could halt film production and screenings across Kerala, had been hinted at for June 1.
