Madhavan rejects offer worth crores to endorse pan masala ad; here's why

Bollywood stars are often seen in pan masala commercials, drawing severe criticism for promoting such products. Superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Hrithik Roshan have all faced backlash for these endorsements. However, actor Madhavan, who is also well-known among South Indian audiences, has chosen a different path.

Madhavan has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer from a major pan masala company. According to media reports, he was offered a significant amount to appear in the advertisement. However, Madhavan chose to reject the offer, demonstrating that his sense of responsibility towards his audience outweighs the money. 

Recently, actor John Abraham also criticized Bollywood stars for endorsing pan masala brands, stating that by promoting such products, these stars are playing with people's lives. Previously, Telugu star Allu Arjun had also backed out from appearing in a pan masala advertisement.

Madhavan’s most recent release was ‘Shaitaan’, which came out in early 2024 and was well-received by audiences. His upcoming projects include ‘Dhurandhar’, ‘De De Pyaar De 2’, and ‘Sankaran.’ Currently, Madhavan is in London for the shooting of the film ‘Bridge.’
