Mumbai: Actor Govinda was admitted to a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday; however, details surrounding his condition and the reason behind the hospitalisation remain limited.

As per the latest update, Govinda has been hospitalised at the CritiCare Asia Multispeciality Hospital in Juhu. The actor is currently under observation and is in a conscious state, Govinda's manager Shashi Sinha told ANI.

"The doctors are expected to review his condition around 12 noon, after which further decisions will be taken. Govinda's medical tests are still ongoing," he added.

Speaking about the actor’s condition, manager Shashi Sinha said, “He had a severe headache and felt heaviness in his head. He also felt dizzy, and because of that, he has been advised to see a neurologist. Doctors are conducting a check-up. He was admitted last night, and the doctor will examine him soon.”

Govinda was first given medication after a telephonic consultation with a doctor but was later rushed to the hospital around 1 a.m. for emergency care, said his friend and legal advisor Lalit Bindal. “He became unconscious at his residence, and we immediately got him admitted,” Bindal added.

The hospitalisation comes a day after Govinda visited veteran actor Dharmendra, who is recovering at Breach Candy Hospital. A video circulating online shows Govinda exiting the hospital following the visit.

This marks the second time the 61-year-old actor has been hospitalised in the past year. In October last year, he was admitted to the same hospital after accidentally injuring his leg with his licensed revolver. The actor sustained a wound below his knee and underwent an hour-long surgery in the ICU to remove the bullet safely. Govinda had reportedly been preparing to travel to Kolkata and was putting the revolver back in a cupboard when it accidentally discharged.

Doctors are keeping Govinda under close observation as they await the results of his ongoing medical tests.
