The Pink City got a little more fashionable (and H&M's moving in)

"Jaipur is a vibrant city with a strong connection to fashion and beauty," says Helena Kuylenstierna, Director, H&M India and it's fitting, because H&M has just made itself at home in one of India's most effortlessly stylish cities. The Swedish fashion giant's newest address sits at Ridhiraj World Business Center, a full 1600 sq. m., two-floor space, with women's fashion on the ground floor and men's and kids' collections upstairs.

This isn't a shy little pop-in, it's H&M's 75th store in India, and the brand didn't tiptoe in. Ahead of the opening, H&M Move led a city-wide run through Jaipur's most iconic landmarks, turning the morning into a moving celebration before anyone even stepped inside. Then came the evening spectacle, a drone show over Albert Hall, tracing aerial formations above centuries-old stone.

Janhvi Kapoor showed up for the occasion in H&M's latest designer collaboration with WARDROBE.NYC. "Fashion has always been about finding pieces that feel effortless, fun and reflective of different sides of personal style," she said, calling it "wonderful to be in Jaipur to celebrate H&M's first store in the city."

Trace it back far enough, and this address is the latest chapter of a story that began in 1947, when Erling Persson opened the first Hennes store in Västerås, Sweden, a single shop that's since grown into over 4,100 stores across 81 countries.

The Jaipur outlet carries the full spread, Ladies, Men, Divided, Baby, Kids, H&M Home and H&M Beauty, alongside the everyday essentials and seasonal fashion the label is known for.

It is almost poetic about a global fashion house choosing Jaipur, a city that's been dressing well since long before "fast fashion" was a phrase to mark this milestone. The Pink City didn't just get a new store. It got runners on its streets, drones over its skyline, and now, racks of new-season fashion behind its doors, plus a digital shelf on H&M's website and app for whenever it wants to shop from home.
