The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the city intimation slip for the UGC NET June 2025 session shortly on its official website — ugcnet.nta.ac.in. This slip will inform candidates about the city where their examination centre is located, helping them to plan travel and accommodation in advance.

The UGC NET June 2025 exam will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from June 25 to June 29, 2025, in two shifts per day: 9 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm.

When to expect the admit card?

Based on previous NTA exam schedules, the city slip is typically released about a week before the exam. Admit cards are generally issued three to five days before the exam date, following the publication of the city slip. Candidates are advised to check the official website regularly for updates.

Steps to download the city intimation slip

Once released, candidates can access their city slip by:

  • Visiting ugcnet.nta.ac.in
  • Clicking on the link for ‘UGC NET June 2025 City Intimation Slip’
  • Entering their Application Number, Date of Birth, and the security pin displayed
  • Verifying the details shown on the screen
  • Downloading and saving the slip for reference

Admit card: How to access and what it includes

The admit card, to be released separately after the city slip, will contain:

  • Candidate’s name, photo, signature, roll number, category, application number, date of birth, and gender
  • Exam date, time, shift, reporting time, gate closing time, subject, and exact centre address

  • Enter login credentials
  • Download and save the PDF

UGC NET exam pattern and subjects

The UGC NET June 2025 will cover 85 subjects, including History, Political Science, English, Journalism, and foreign languages such as Spanish and Russian.

  • Paper 1: 50 multiple-choice questions (100 marks), focused on teaching and research aptitude
  • Paper 2: 100 multiple-choice questions (200 marks), based on the candidate’s chosen subject
  • Total duration: 3 hours (180 minutes), no breaks between papers

Purpose of the UGC NET exam

The UGC NET exam determines eligibility for:

  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
  • Appointment as Assistant Professor
  • Admission to Ph.D. programmes

The test is conducted by the NTA on behalf of the University Grants Commission, and is a key gateway for careers in Indian higher education and research.
