The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has completed the Class 10 board examinations for 2026, bringing relief to lakhs of students across the country. With the exams now over, attention has shifted to the announcement of the results, as students and parents eagerly wait for the official declaration date.

The Secondary School Examination for Class 10 was conducted between February 17 and March 11, 2026. Once released, the results will be available on the board’s official websites, where students can log in using their examination credentials to view their marks.

Although CBSE has not yet confirmed the exact date for the declaration of results, previous years’ trends suggest that the board is likely to announce the results in May.

When will CBSE Class 10 Result 2026 be declared?

While there has been no official notification from the board regarding the result date, CBSE has historically announced Class 10 results in mid-May. In 2025 and 2024, the results were released on May 13, while in 2023 they were declared on May 12.

The board completed the 2026 examinations on March 11, with the French paper being the final exam. The examination cycle had begun on February 17 with the Mathematics (Basic) and Mathematics (Standard) papers.

Around 25 lakh students appeared for the examination this year, including approximately 14 lakh boys and nearly 10.9 lakh girls.

Students will be able to check their results through several official portals once they are announced:

In addition to websites, results will also be accessible through mobile platforms such as the DigiLocker app and the UMANG application.

How to check CBSE Class 10 Result 2026

Students can follow these steps to access their results online:

  1. Visit the official CBSE result portals at cbseresults.nic.in or cbse.gov.in.
  2. Click on the link titled “Secondary School Examination (Class X) Results 2026.”
  3. Enter the required credentials including roll number, school number, admit card ID and date of birth.
  4. Submit the details to view the result.
  5. Download the marksheet and take a printout for future reference.

Students will need to provide their roll number, school number, admit card ID, date of birth and the security pin to access the results.

An overview of result announcements over the past decade shows that CBSE typically releases results in May, although there were delays during the pandemic years.

Digital marksheets through DigiLocker

CBSE will also issue digital academic documents through its repository known as ‘Parinam Manjusha’, which is integrated with DigiLocker.

Students will be able to download several official documents shortly after the results are announced, including:

  • Marksheet-cum-certificate
  • Migration certificate
  • Skill certificate (where applicable)

These documents will be accessible via DigiLocker and will carry the same validity as physical certificates.

Other ways to check CBSE results

Apart from official websites, students will have additional options to access their results.

Results may be obtained through the SMS facility by sending the following message to ‘7738299899’:

For Class 10: cbse10 <roll number> <school number> <centre number>

Students may also access their results via Google Search, the SMS Organiser app, and the UMANG mobile application.

Additionally, the board provides a telephone-based information service through the numbers ‘24300699’ (for Delhi subscribers) and ‘011-24300699’ (for students in other parts of the country).

Details that will be released with the results

Alongside the results, CBSE is expected to publish a detailed press note outlining key examination statistics. These may include:

  • Total number of schools and examination centres
  • Overall pass percentage
  • Region-wise performance
  • Gender-wise results
  • Institution-wise performance comparisons among Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas, government schools and private schools
  • Performance of Children With Special Needs (CWSN)
  • Number of students scoring above 90 per cent and 95 per cent
  • Candidates placed in the compartment category

Compartment examinations

Students who fail in one or two subjects will be allowed to appear for compartment examinations. The board will announce the schedule for these exams after the declaration of results.

CBSE clarification on Class 10 examination system

CBSE has also clarified aspects of the Class 10 examination structure starting from 2026.

Under the new framework, all students must appear in the first board examination. Those who pass will have the opportunity to improve their marks in up to three subjects, including Science, Mathematics, Social Science and languages.

Students who miss three or more subjects will be placed in the “Essential Repeat” category and will need to reappear in the main examination in the following year. Candidates placed in the compartment category will be able to take the second exam accordingly.

The board has also stated that once a student passes Class 10, they will not be permitted to appear separately for additional subjects.

CBSE has advised students to rely only on official updates regarding the result announcement. The board has cautioned against believing or sharing unverified information circulating on social media.

As of now, no official notification regarding the exact date and time of the CBSE Class 10 Result 2026 has been issued. Students are encouraged to regularly check the official CBSE website for updates.
