ISRO’s VSSC invites applications for research scientist posts: Apply now

Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space, Government of India, has invited applications for recruitment of 2 Research Scientists, on a contract basis for a period of 3 years.
The number of vacancies may vary depending upon the actual requirement. At present, the place of posting is VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram, but the selected candidate is liable to be posted in any of the centres/units of the Indian Space Research Organisation/Department of Space situated in India, as and when required.
Nature of job
Data Product generation based on round the clock Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) scheduler mode operation, data validation, and support in calibration and maintenance of radar. (Round-the-clock operation)
Essential qualifications for the post
M.Sc. degree in Meteorology/Atmospheric Science with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of a minimum of 6.84 on a 10 scale or equivalent.
Age Limit
Minimum age is 18 years. The upper age limit will be 28 years as of 12.01.2026. Ex-Servicemen, Meritorious Sportspersons & Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India orders.
Selection Process
The selection for the position will be based on the performance in the interview. Initial screening of applications will be conducted to shortlist meritorious candidates for interview, and the final selection will be based on the performance of the candidates in the interview. The call letter for the interview will be sent to the shortlisted candidates by e-mail. The result of the interview will be announced through the VSSC website subsequently.
Pay and allowances
Selected candidates may be offered appointment as Research Scientist with a remuneration of Rs. 56,100/- + applicable allowances. Medical facilities (Contributory Health Service Scheme) for self, canteen facilities, and quarters facility subject to availability are admissible as per Central Government orders.

The application is to be submitted online at the link provided at https://www.vssc.gov.in/, by 1700 hours on 12.01.2026. Those who possess the required qualification as of 12.01.2026 only need to apply.
After submitting the online application form and successful payment of the application fee, the candidate is required to print out/save a copy of the final application form (pdf) and preserve it till the completion of the selection process.
The candidates registered under the National Career Service (NCS) portal and fulfilling the eligibility conditions may visit the ISRO website and follow the application procedure as stated above.
Those working under the Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous bodies etc. should submit a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the present employer at the time of interview. Further, candidates who get employment after submission of the online application should also submit an NOC from their employer at the time of interview. A candidate who fails to submit NOC as mentioned above will not be permitted to attend the interview, and his/her candidature will be cancelled.
