Post - Doctoral Fellow position at Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology

Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), an Autonomous Institute under Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India; Paschim Boragaon, Garchuk, Guwahati-781035, has invited applications for the position of a Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) under Physical Sciences Division, in the subject area, ‘Computational Condensed Matter Physics and Material Science’.
Eligibility: Essential: Applicant should hold an M.Sc. In Physics and Ph.D. in Physics/Materials Science with expertise in advanced computational techniques for materials modeling and simulation. Applicants should have at least 2 first author publications in peer-reviewed national and/or international journals having more than 2 impact factors.
Desirable: Additional experience of working with experimental techniques for materials characterization and properties.
Those who have submitted their Ph.D thesis may also apply.
Age limit: Upper age limit is 35 years at the time of the application. Relaxation will be there as per Government of India rules.
Fellowship: Fellowship amount will be Rs.55000/- plus admissible HRA as per institute rules.
Duration: Appointment will be for a period of 12 months which may be extended for a maximum period of one year (6 months at a stretch) depending on the satisfactory performance of the candidate.

Only short listed candidates will be called for an interview and short presentation of her/his research work. Those called for an interview must bring their original mark sheets, certificates and other credentials. Those in employment should submit a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the concerned employer. Those who have submitted Ph.D. thesis should produce a thesis submission certificate from the Controller of Examination/ Registrar.
