B.Tech students, don’t miss this! Apply for CSIR-CMERI summer internship 2025
CSIR–Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), Durgapur – 713209; has invited applications for admission to the Summer Internship 2025 for Under Graduate Engineering students.
The Program aims to provide opportunities to eligible and interested students to participate in the activities of the Institute for obtaining real time, hands on work experience in the emerging fields of research.
Duration of the Summer Internship would be 4 to 8 weeks during Summer Vacation (May to July of 2025).
Total Intake: The total number of students to be inducted as Summer Interns will be decided as per the requirements under different ongoing projects in the R&D Groups of the Institute.
Eligibility: Applicants should be B.E./B.Tech. students studying in IITs, NITs or recognized College/ University/ Institute of the country who would be completing 6th Semester of their B.E./B.Tech. course by May/June, 2025 in any of the following disciplines: Agricultural Engineering; Biotechnology/ Biochemical Engineering; Chemical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Computer Science & Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Electrical & Electronics Engineering; Electronics & Communications Engineering; Electronics & Instrumentation; Information Technology; Manufacturing Technology; Mechanical Engineering; Mechatronics Engineering; Metallurgy & Materials Engineering; Production Engineering.
Applicant should have passed board examinations of Class X and Class XII with satisfactory marks, preferably securing 1st Division/Class. In addition, CGPA up to the last semester examination passed in the B.E./B.Tech. course of study has to be at least 7.5. Applicants must produce self-certified copies of these documents along with their application.
Selection: Selection will be on the basis of fulfilment of Eligibility Criteria as notified and further screening process.

Application: Applications are to be submitted in the prescribed format by post or by hand delivery to ‘The Head, Skill and Innovation Promotion Group, CSIR – Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), Mahatma Gandhi Avenue; P.O. Durgapur, Dist. Paschim Bardhaman; West Bengal – 713209’ along with the documents as mentioned; in an envelope to be super-scribed, ‘Summer Internship Programme at CSIR–CMERI, 2025’.
The following documents must be submitted with the application: (i) Original copy of the Recommendation Letter/NOC from the Head of the Institution / Head of the Department / Training and Placement Officer mentioning their aspirations and the date & period of proposed Summer Internship at CSIR–CMERI (ii) Self-certified copies of mark sheets/grade cards and certificates of all examinations passed (starting from board exam of class X) (iii) Bio-Data (as per enclosed format shown in Annexure–I)
Applications must be received by the Head, Skill and Innovation Promotion Group at CSIR–CMERI, Durgapur latest by March 31, 2025.
Application made only by the student/candidate without any recommendation from his institution (Head of Institution, Head of Department or TPO) will be rejected.
The list of selected candidates (including wait listed ones, if any) will be notified on CSIR–CMERI website by last week of April, 2025.
The selected interns will have to make their own arrangement of stay. No accommodation will be provided by CSIR-CMERI.
