India’s most awaited SUVs of 2026: From new Kia Seltos to XUV700 Facelift

# Auto Desk

India’s SUV market continues to expand at an exceptional pace, driven by evolving preferences and growing demand for feature-rich models. While the final month of 2025 will see several new launches, manufacturers are already gearing up for an equally busy 2026. A number of major SUVs have been confirmed for the Indian market next year. Here is an overview of five key models expected to arrive in 2026.

Kia New-Gen Seltos

January 2026 will also see the arrival of the new-generation Kia Seltos, featuring redesigned styling, enhanced safety tech, and the addition of a hybrid powertrain. The model is expected to be positioned as a compact to mid-size SUV with a price range of ₹12 lakh to ₹21 lakh. It will likely come with petrol, diesel, and hybrid options powered by a 1493 cc engine, offering a fuel efficiency of 17–20 kmpl and seating for five passengers.

Renault New Duster

Also returning in January is the Renault New Duster, making a comeback with bold styling and a hybrid-ready setup. Aimed at buyers seeking reliability and strong road presence, the updated Duster is expected to carry a ₹10 lakh to ₹20 lakh price tag. It will be offered with petrol and hybrid powertrains, featuring a 1.2-litre turbo (1499 cc) engine, delivering approximately 18–20 kmpl and accommodating five occupants.

Mahindra XUV700 Facelift

Among the most anticipated is the Mahindra XUV700 facelift, expected in January 2026. One of India’s best-selling SUVs, the updated XUV700 is likely to introduce a refreshed cabin, improved materials, and more advanced ADAS features. It will continue as a mid-size SUV, with expected pricing between ₹15 lakh and ₹26 lakh, and will be offered with both petrol and diesel engines — a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel. The SUV is expected to return around 12–14 kmpl and will be available in 5- and 7-seat configurations

Honda Elevate Hybrid

Honda is preparing to introduce the Elevate Hybrid in March 2026, targeting drivers who prioritise efficiency. Expected to deliver an impressive 22–25 kmpl, the strong-hybrid Elevate will feature Honda’s refined 1.5-litre (1498 cc) engine. The compact SUV is likely to be priced between ₹13 lakh and ₹18 lakh, with seating for five.

Kia Seltos EV

March 2026 will likely see the launch of the Kia Seltos EV, inspired by the Kia Syros’ feature-rich approach to electric mobility. The electric SUV is set to draw buyers transitioning to EVs with modern technology, a 42–45 kWh battery, and an estimated range of around 370 km. Expected to be priced between ₹15 lakh and ₹20 lakh, the Seltos EV will also offer five-seat accommodation.
