Pathanamthitta: A KSRTC low floor bus that operates on the Pamba-Nilakkal route caught fire. Officials said that short-circuit was the cause of the fire. There were no casualties in the accident.
The bus caught fire around 8:30 AM after reaching Pamba with the Sabarimala pilgrims from Nilakkal. The fire was quickly brought under control as the fire station was nearby.
Only the driver and the cleaner were in the bus at the time of the accident. Smoke first arose from the mid-part of the bus and the fire later spread to the other parts. The driver and cleaner were able to exit from the bus before the fire spread.
