Kottayam: The dead body of a person was found inside a car partially submerged in a pond in Kanakkary here on Friday. 

The deceased has been identified as Lijeesh from Kondukkala.

Locals noticed the vehicle floating in the water in the wee hours and promptly alerted the police. 

Initial assessments by the police suggest that the car might have lost control and crashed into the pool. The Kuravilangad Police arrived at the scene and initiated further proceedings.
