Thrissur: A bus going from Kunnamkulam to Thrissur caught fire at Kechery here on Monday. Passengers and workers had a narrow escape from the accident.

The bus Jai Guru caught on fire while taking service on Monday around 5 pm.

As the workers intervened on time, all the passengers evacuated immediately when smoke appeared in the front end. By then, the fire spread from one side of the bus. The passengers and fire and rescue personnel doused the fire.

The incident led to a traffic block in the area. Locals and fire and rescue officials intervened to restore traffic.
