The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued an advisory cautioning users about multiple vulnerabilities in Android devices. The advisory came barely days after the agency warned against vulnerabilities in Apple devices.

In its latest warning, CERT-In states that attackers would try to take advantage of these vulnerabilities to obtain sensitive information, gain elevated privileges and remotely execute arbitrary code.

As per CERT-in, the impacted Android versions include Android 12, 12L, 13, and 14. Phones using Qualcomm and MediaTek chips are also affected.

“Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Android which could be exploited by an attacker to obtain sensitive information, gain elevated privileges, remotely execute arbitrary code and cause a denial of service condition on the targeted system. These vulnerabilities exist in Android due to flaws in the Framework, System, Kernel, Arm components, Imagination Technologies, MediaTek components, Qualcomm components and Qualcomm closed-source components,” the advisory says.
