Asian Games: India win silver in 50m rifle 3 positions as China reclaim gold

India won a silver medal in the men's 50m rifle 3 positions team event at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya on Friday, with Rudrankksh Patil, Aishwary Pratap Tomar and Niraj Kumar finishing behind China.

The Indian trio posted a combined score of 1762-94x, narrowly missing out on gold as China finished on 1766-95x. South Korea took the bronze medal with 1751-87x.

India had won gold in the same event at the 2022 Asian Games, but could not retain the title as China moved to the top of the podium this time.

India's medal-winning performance was followed by two individual qualification spots.

Aishwary Pratap Tomar finished third in the individual standings with a score of 589-34x, while Niraj Kumar placed fourth with 588-34x. Both shooters qualified for the men's 50m rifle 3 positions individual final.

Rudrankksh Patil, who recorded 585-26x, finished ninth and missed out on a place in the individual final.
