Mumbai: Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and social media influencer RJ Mahvash once again became the centre of dating speculations after they were spotted together at the Champions Trophy.
Their casual camaraderie, laughter-filled conversations, and social media videos reignited ongoing rumours about their relationship, despite Mahvash’s previous firm denials.
The dating rumours first gained traction in December 2024, when a Christmas photo featuring the two went viral. At the time, Chahal was reportedly facing separation rumours from his wife, choreographer Dhanashree Verma. Mahvash, however, had strongly dismissed the speculation, calling the rumours baseless and misleading.
Following their latest joint public appearance, fans have been resharing Mahvash’s past statements, where she categorically slammed the assumptions. In a widely circulated post, a fan quoted her past response: 'Why is everyone judging Yuzvendra Chahal? Can’t friends go out together?'
In her December note, Mahvash had expressed frustration over the repeated link-ups, stating: 'Some articles and speculations have been circulating around the internet. It’s literally funny to see how baseless these rumours are. If you get seen with a person of the opposite gender, does that mean you are dating them? I’m sorry, what year is this? And how many people are you all dating then?'
She further criticised the attempts to drag her name into unnecessary gossip, adding: 'I have been patient for 2-3 days now, but I won’t let any PR teams drag my name into this to cover up other people’s images. Let people live in peace with their friends and family during tough times.'
Chahal and Mahvash weren’t the only ones under scrutiny at the Champions Trophy. Netizens also observed Hardik Pandya, who was spotted in the stands with his rumoured new interest, singer Jasmin Walia, further fuelling discussions about the personal lives of Indian cricketers.
While neither Chahal nor Mahvash has directly addressed the latest round of speculation, the resurfacing of past denials suggests that the duo continues to be the subject of intense media and fan scrutiny.
