Kuwait City: Kuwait's Ministry of Defence said on Sunday that three northern border posts and an offshore oil platform were damaged during the latest exchange of attacks linked to the escalating conflict between the United States and Iran.

In a statement, the ministry said three land border posts in the north of the country came under attack, resulting in material damage. It did not specify who was responsible for the assault.

The ministry also said an offshore drilling platform operated by the Kuwait Oil Company was targeted by what it described as a hostile drone. The attack caused material damage to the facility and left one worker injured.

The incidents come amid a sharp escalation in hostilities across the Gulf after the United States carried out fresh airstrikes on Iran. Tehran has since launched retaliatory attacks targeting several countries in the region that host US military forces, raising fears of a wider regional conflict.
