Kerala: Tata Motors is all set to officially unveil its much-anticipated Harrier.ev electric SUV on June 3 at 2 pm, and ahead of the launch, the company has already created a buzz by showcasing the vehicle’s impressive off-road prowess in a promotional video titled “Elephant Rock Challenge.”

In the video, the Harrier.ev takes on the iconic Elephant Rock, a rocky outcrop nestled amid Kerala’s lush tea estates, located at an altitude of 3,937 ft. Known for its steep and unforgiving incline, the terrain is naturally divided into three stages, with the final stretch being particularly challenging. Yet, the Harrier EV climbs the incline with ease, proving its terrain-conquering ability.

Tata Motors shared the video with the bold caption, "Performance that doesn't just overcome the impossible, it deletes it all."

The video highlights some of the SUV's standout features tailored for rugged terrain, including:

  • Off-road cruise control
  • Rotary drive mode selector with specialised modes: Rock Crawl, Snow, and Sand
  • 360-degree camera system
  • Boost and Eco driving modes

These features, combined with its dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration highlights the Harrier.ev’s off-road and performance credibility.

Range and performance

While Tata has yet to reveal full technical specifications, a teaser clip showed the Harrier EV’s digital instrument cluster displaying a range of 590 km at 90% charge. Though real-world range figures are awaited, this puts the Harrier.ev in a promising position among long-range electric SUVs.

Inside the cabin, the Harrier EV is expected to be packed with premium features such as:

  • A large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with multiple view modes
  • Automatic climate control
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Rear AC vents
  • 360-degree parking camera
  • Multiple drive modes for on-road and off-road versatility
