Petrol, diesel prices today (January 14): Check latest city-wise rates across India
New Delhi: Petrol and diesel rates have shown no major changes across metro cities and state capitals, on January 14, Wednesday.
The price of petrol remained stable on Wednesday at ₹103.54 per litre. Over the past 10 days, however, they have shown minor fluctuations, moving within a narrow range of ₹103.50 to ₹103.54.
In Mumbai, petrol is priced at ₹103.54 per litre. In Bhubaneshwar, petrol dropped slightly to ₹101.03 per litre.
Diesel was priced at ₹90.03 per litre in Mumbai, showing slight to no variation across major metro cities.
With prices holding steady nationwide for the last 12 months, fuel costs remain influenced by global oil trends, domestic tax policies and currency exchange rates.
Petrol prices in India remain higher than in neighbouring countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. This difference is primarily attributed to higher excise duty and Value Added Tax (VAT) imposed by both central and state governments.

LPG price update
The average price of a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder across major Indian cities stands at ₹852.50, with no recent change in rates.
Prices have remained stable since April 2025, following a ₹50 hike in April 2025. Over the past 12 months, LPG prices across India have risen by ₹50 between December 2024 and November 2025.
