Petrol, diesel price Jan 29: Delhi cheapest, Hyderabad and TVM costliest today

Mumbai: Fuel prices in India remained unchanged on Thursday, January 29, 2026, with both petrol and diesel rates in Mumbai holding steady compared to the previous day.

According to the latest data, petrol in Mumbai is priced at ₹103.54 per litre, with no change recorded from Wednesday. This rate has been largely stable over recent weeks, fluctuating only slightly within a narrow range.

Meanwhile, diesel in Mumbai is being sold at ₹90.03 per litre today, also unchanged from the previous day. Diesel prices continue to show consistency, with little to no movement in recent times.

Fuel prices across India are influenced by global crude oil benchmarks, currency exchange rates, and domestic taxation policies. India’s petrol and diesel prices typically include central excise duty and state taxes, which contribute significantly to the retail cost for consumers.

The Indian fuel pricing system has relied on daily revisions since June 2017, enabling retail rates to reflect fluctuations in global oil markets and exchange rates. However, in recent weeks, the Mumbai retail prices have shown little variation, with petrol and diesel prices remaining unchanged day-on-day.

Consumers across states and districts can compare today’s fuel prices with those of the previous day, as the official daily prices already include applicable state taxes.
