IndiGo is all set to launch of daily non-stop flights to London Heathrow starting October 26, 2025, marking a significant milestone in its long-haul expansion plans.

The service, which is subject to regulatory approvals, will be operated using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft under its ongoing damp-lease arrangement with Norse Atlantic Airways.

The announcement comes as the airline celebrates 19 years of operations, during which it has grown into the country’s largest carrier with a fleet of over 400 aircraft and a vast network covering more than 90 domestic and over 40 international destinations.

“Reaching this 19-year mark is not just a celebration of the past, but a launchpad for our future,” said IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers. “We are thrilled to unveil our next global chapter with direct daily flights to London Heathrow, expanding our reach and offering more seamless travel to our customers.”

In the current financial year, IndiGo will induct five more Boeing 787-9 aircraft, supporting its long-haul strategy and enabling new international connections. This move follows the airline’s recent launch of direct flights from Mumbai to Manchester and Amsterdam in July 2025.

Further strengthening its international presence, IndiGo is rolling out its premium business product, IndiGoStretch, on select routes. Starting August 9, 2025, the service will be available on flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Singapore using the airline’s two-class A321 aircraft. The product will also be introduced on the Delhi–Dubai route from August 30 and Mumbai–Dubai from September 3.

“We continue to adapt to the evolving needs of our travellers, offering not just more destinations but enhanced onboard experiences,” Elbers said, underscoring the airline’s focus on both scale and service quality.

IndiGo is also deepening its global footprint through strategic alliances. The airline recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM, and Virgin Atlantic to build a comprehensive partnership linking India with Europe and North America. Existing ties with KLM and Japan Airlines have been expanded into reciprocal agreements, improving connectivity and benefits for passengers. A new codeshare with Jetstar will now give IndiGo flyers access to 14 destinations across Australia and New Zealand.

In line with its global ambitions, IndiGo has firmed up an order for 30 Airbus A350 aircraft by converting previous purchase rights, bringing its total widebody order to 60 aircraft. The airline plans to launch flights to Copenhagen, Athens, Siem Reap, and four additional cities in Central Asia during the current fiscal year.

Domestically, IndiGo has also expanded its reach by adding Adampur (Jalandhar, Punjab) and Hindon (Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh) to its network. It has also committed to operating over 18 daily departures from the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, offering connectivity to over 15 cities across India once operations commence.

“With every new destination and partnership, we are steadily building a truly global IndiGo,” Elbers added. “Our journey so far has been powered by the trust of millions of passengers and the commitment of more than 66,000 IndiGo team members. We’re now ready to take on the world, one airport at a time.”
