Gold & silver prices in India (Sept 13): Chennai leads in gold rates

Mumbai: Gold and silver prices in India saw a slight dip on Saturday, September 13, with 24-carat gold trading at ₹11,117 per gram, according to GoodReturns.

Kerala and other southern cities are witnessing relatively higher silver rates compared to northern regions.

Investors and buyers continue to track the movement of precious metals closely, as global cues and domestic demand influence the rates across major cities.

Gold rates (24K, 22K, 18K)

On September 13, Chennai recorded the highest gold rate, with 24K gold priced at ₹11,171 per gram, followed by Delhi at ₹11,130. In Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kerala, prices stood at ₹11,117.

For 22K gold, Chennai again led with ₹10,220 per gram, slightly above Delhi’s rate at ₹10,205 and the other metros (Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad), where it was ₹10,190.

The 18K gold rate was also marginally higher in Chennai at ₹8,460 per gram, compared to ₹8,337 in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kerala.

Silver rates across major cities

Silver recorded a higher rate of ₹133 per gram, or ₹1,33,000 per kilogram on Saturday. Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kerala recorded the highest rate at ₹1,43,000 per kg, while Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and other major cities saw a lower rate of ₹1,33,000 per kg.

In short, gold continues to hold its status as a hedge against inflation, with investors closely watching the gold and silver price update live.
