2 young women booked for stealing jewellery of passengers from bus

Kollam: Police nabbed two migrant women for attempting to steal jewellery of passengers from a bus in Kollam. Coimbatore natives Kousalya (22) and Bhavani (28) were arrested from a private bus which conducts services on Elambalur Ammachiveedu route.   

The accused robbed the gold chains of Saraswathi and Rasheeda who were travelling in the bus from Elambalur to Kollam. When the bus reached Kadappakkada, Saraswathi noticed that her jewellery was missing and started to yell in despair. Meanwhile, another passenger Rasheeda also found her gold chain stolen. Following this, Kousalya and Bhavani tried to escape from the bus at Shankar’s hospital junction. But the passengers and employees, who felt suspicious about the women, stopped them and informed police.

A team of pink police and East police quickly rushed to the spot and recovered the stolen jewellery. The accused are in remand now.
