Wild jumbo attacks couple in Idukki; destroys bike

Anakulam: A couple was attacked by a wild elephant in Idukki’s Mankulam on Sunday. Johnny and Daisy, natives of Anakulam, suffered the attack while on their way to church. 

Reportedly, the wild elephant charged at the couple’s bike. Following which, the vehicle fell down and the duo escaped narrowly. Their bike was completely destroyed by the animal. 

The couple was soon rushed to the hospital by the forest officials. They have sustained only minor injuries. 

According to the local residents, wild elephant attacks are common in the area.
