Toll booth worker brutally manhandled in Kollam, police initiate probe

Kollam: A worker at a toll plaza in Kavanad here was brutally manhandled by a group of people. The CCTV visuals of the attack also came out and police initiated a probe into the attack.
The incident took place around 2.45 pm on Thursday. Passengers in a car attacked Arun when he questioned their move to cross the emergency gate without paying the money. The men in the moving car took hold of Arun by his neck and dragged him through the road. They threw him off the road and managed to flee from the spot.
Arun sustained injuries on his legs and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Arun reported that two people were travelling in the car.
“ I blocked the car after noticing it passing through the emergency line. I asked them whether they have a pass issued for the natives. As they said they don’t hold any pass, I asked them to take the car to the other lane and leave after paying the toll. But they refused and one of them took hold of my collar and attacked me. The other person told his co-passenger to drag me through the road,” Arun explained the incident.
CCTV visuals of the incident revealed the visuals of the attack and the number of the car. Anchalummood police initiated a probe into the incident.
