Thrissur medical college students protest against night curfew in ladies' hostel

Thrissur: Female students at Thrissur medical college are protesting against the night curfew in the ladies' hostel. Along with the protest, students are preparing for a legal battle. The protest has been named ‘swathandrayam ardarathriyil’ (freedom at midnight). 

As per the rule, female students should enter the hostel before 9:30 pm. Earlier too, similar protests were organised against the rule, but the management did not take a favourable stand. Students opined that they could not move forward with such restrictions.  

The protest began by drawing pictures and writing slogans on hostel walls. Students said that more programmes would be arranged in the coming days to protest against the night curfew.
