Suspected drug smuggling: NCB inspects containers aboard Maldives-bound ship in Kochi

Kochi: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) inspected containers aboard a ship that arrived in Kochi on Tuesday. 

The containers aboard an Indian cargo ship, Kaveri, were headed from Dubai to the Maldives. On Monday, NCB received information that containers carrying food materials are being used to smuggle drugs from Oman. 

The container is said to carry tomato sauce. Based on this information, the ship that left the port was brought back ashore for inspection.
