Kollam: An eighth-grade student lost his life after being electrocuted near Thevalakkara Boys' School on Thursday morning.

The student, identified as Midhun, a resident of Vilanthara, was reportedly searching for his missing slipper when the accident happened. He climbed onto a nearby building to get his slipper stuck on the roof of a cycle shed.

While attempting to reach the slipper, Midhun slipped and accidentally came in contact with a high-voltage power line running close to the building and was electrocuted.

Though he sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital by school staff and local residents, he succumbed to his injuries.
