Sexual harassment complaint against senior doctor in Ekm, 2nd complaint in a month

Kochi: Barely days after a young woman made a sexual harassment complaint against a senior doctor at Ernakulam General Hospital, a former colleague of the accused has now come forward with a similar complaint with police. 

A female doctor who worked in the hospital has filed another complaint before Ernakulam Central Police Station against Dr G. Manoj, head of General Medicine. Police have registered a case based on a complaint filed via email since the woman was living abroad.

The female doctor alleged that Manoj hugged her without consent during his private practice facility near General Hospital. This incident also happened in 2018. Dr Manoj is presently working at the general hospital in Aluva.  

Meanwhile, police officials informed they would seek the woman's statement soon.  However, the officials also stated that they received another email from the same woman demanding that the complaint be withdrawn as she is not interested in pursuing the case. 

Earlier this month, a female doctor, who underwent house surgency at General Hospital in 2018, accused Dr. Manoj of sexually harassing her.
