Salman Khan to inaugurate bike race event in Kozhikode, says Kerala sports minister

Kozhikode: Kerala Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman has announced that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will be flying in to inaugurate the bike race in Kozhikode.

Interestingly, his remark came amid the state’s failed attempts to bring football superstar Lionel Messi to Kerala.

The race is scheduled to take place at the Kozhikode Corporation EMS Stadium. The minister made this announcement while inaugurating an event in Pookkottur, Malappuram, on Sunday.

“There will be a bike race at Kozhikode Stadium. It is quite unique, taking place across three countries at the international level. India’s most popular film star, Salman Khan, will be inaugurating it,” the minister said. However, it remains unclear when the event will be held. 

The government faced intense criticism in recent months over conflicting statements regarding Messi’s visit to Kerala this year. It has now been officially confirmed that the Argentinian football star will not be arriving in the state anytime soon.
