Reels with Rolls-Royces, lavish lifestyle; crores allegedly moved abroad; over 20 complaints against Parvathy Maya

Kochi: The police custody of Parvathy Maya Shaji, managing director of Amster Overseas Private Limited, who was arrested in a case involving an alleged multi-crore financial fraud after promising jobs abroad, will end by Saturday afternoon. The Ernakulam Magistrate Court had granted the accused one day of police custody. After completing the interrogation, police will produce her before the court by afternoon.

More than 20 complainants from various parts of the state have approached the police after learning of Parvathy Maya’s arrest. The complaints allege that she collected lakhs by promising high-paying jobs in countries including Poland, Armenia and Canada, and cheated the applicants. A major portion of the money allegedly collected through the fraud was received through foreign bank accounts. The preliminary investigation has revealed that similar cases are pending against her in other districts as well.

Police said that Amster Overseas near Changampuzha Park in Edappally and Amster Immigration Overseas in Palarivattom did not have licences to conduct foreign recruitment. The accused allegedly began targeting victims through advertisements on social media in 2023.

Parvathy’s reels on social media, in which she is seen posing alongside luxury cars, including Rolls-Royces, and wearing expensive jewellery, have gone viral. There are also complaints that Parvathy and her associates threatened job seekers who demanded their money back.

Parvathy’s husband and owner of the firm, Aneesh Menon, managers Abhijith Nair, Aju K. Mathew and Vishnu Vijayan, and Parvathy’s father Shaji are also accused in the case. Police said steps have been initiated to bring back the accused who are abroad.
