Govt to issue ration cards for tenants and transgenders

Thiruvananthapuram: Food and Civil Supplies Minister GR Anil informed that the Kerala government will issue ration cards for tenants who can submit their self-declared affidavits.

The government will take measures to issue ration cards to homeless people taking shelter on the streets and also transgenders, the minister informed.  

The minister said that the objective of the government is to provide ration cards even to people living on the streets. Ration cards and Onam special ration kits will be distributed to transgenders, he informed.

Meanwhile, the minister also informed that government is contempleting over conducting Onam fair.
