Pinarayi is concealing crucial information, not allowing officers to come to Raj Bhavan: Kerala Guv

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has publicly criticised Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, stating that the explanation provided in the Chief Minister’s letter regarding alleged gold smuggling activities in Malappuram is unclear. The Governor expressed his views while reading the letter aloud in front of the media.
"I reiterate that not only is the Chief Minister refusing to come to the Raj Bhavan, but he is also preventing others from attending. This raises questions about what he may be hiding. We all remember that three years ago, his own secretary was arrested in a gold smuggling case. One must wonder—what is keeping him from engaging with us?" the Governor stated.
He emphasised that the matter at hand is not a simple law-and-order issue but requires direct engagement, which is why he had instructed the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police to appear in person. "However, the Chief Minister appears to be obstructing officials due to something he may be concealing," Khan added.
The Governor further remarked that it is the Chief Minister's responsibility to provide the requested information, expressing frustration that the Chief Minister has not been willing to share details. "What can I do if he refuses to disclose the necessary information?" he concluded.
