Online classes during months of heavy rain; summer holidays should continue to be in April, May itself: Omar Lulu

Following filmmaker Jude Anthany Joseph, director Omar Lulu has expressed his views on the ongoing discussions surrounding the rescheduling of school vacation in Kerala. Taking to Facebook, Omar Lulu stressed the need to retain the school summer holidays during the heat soaring months of April and May. He also suggested conducting online classes during the monsoon-heavy months of June, July and August, like the digital learning that has followed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jude had proposed that the summer vacation should be given during peak season of April and a separate monsoon break should be given in July. He also suggested in a Facebook post that, if possible, classes could be conducted online during May and June.
The discussions were initiated by Minister for Education, V. Sivankutty, who had earlier invited public opinion on potentially shifting the summer break to coincide with the intense monsoon period, thereby keeping schools open in April and May.
