‘Impiety, selfishness’: NSS launches veiled attack on Congress’ stand on Ram Temple event

Perunna(Changanassery): The Nair Service Society (NSS) on Wednesday in a veiled attack slammed the Congress party’s stand on the Ram Temple consecration ceremony. Without naming the Congress, a media release undersigned by NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair noted that any party opposing the Ram Temple event can be deemed as an entity working for their selfishness and political gains.
Earlier today, Congress announced that party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury have "respectfully declined" the invitation to attend the Ram Temple consecration ceremony, alleging that it has been made into a "political project" by the BJP and the RSS for "electoral gain".
According to NSS, the act of boycotting the Ram Temple consecration ceremony can be considered impiety. Every believer, regardless of their religion or caste should attend it, the release read.
The release also noted that NSS has no political interest in the matter.
It may be noted that NSS is an influential community in the state and a vote bank. Recently, NSS hit out against Congress’ stand on caste survey.
