Kerala CM should worry about his own face first: IUML state gen secy PMA Salam

Malappuram: Continuing his critique of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Muslim League State General Secretary P.M.A. Salam responded sharply to the Chief Minister's recent comment that the Muslim League had "lost its face." Salam retorted that the Chief Minister, who criticizes others, should first worry about his own face.
He said that opinions came from within the CPM itself that one of the main reasons for the party’s poll debacle is the attitude and methods of the Chief Minister. ‘Porali’ Shaji also said the same thing. Both the party and general secretary Yechury have opined that the defeat was due to the failure of the government, Salam said. He added that the disappointment of all these should not be directed at the Muslim League.
“Pinarayi Vijayan said that the general style of the League is good. It is alleged that SDPI and Jamaat-e-Islami stood with UDF this election. They have also voted for the LDF in earlier elections. This time we might have got it too. They must have felt that Rahul Gandhi's leadership is necessary for the survival of democracy and secularism,” said Salam. He also said Pinarayi should not try to hold the League responsible for their defeat.
On the Plus One crisis in Malabar, Salam warned that the League will take up the strike if the issue is not resolved.
Salam said, “As many as 23,000 children have not got a seat in Malappuram. Even then the Education Minister says there are seats left in Malappuram. Where does the Minister get all these figures? Why the minister, a former SFI activist himself, is not getting the numbers correctly when the SFI has the same. The Youth League's Assembly march on June 25 will be a warning. If there is no solution even after that, the party will go forward with the strike.”
He also said that the League is responsible to the people who elected them.
