Malappuram: In a public forum here on Tuesday, MLA P V  Anvar severely criticised district police chief S Sasidharan IPS. Both were attending the district conference of the police association. Following the incident, the  SP who was supposed to deliver the keynote speech at the function ended his speech with a single word and left the dais.

Anvar was there to inaugurate the conference. However, he had to wait for the SP for some time, making him angry. The MLA started his speech saying that the behaviour of the IPS officers was a disgrace to the police force. Anwar also mentioned in his speech that the culprit behind the missing of a rope weighing 2500 kg from his park has not yet been caught and flayed the SP for his late arrival in a harsh language.

The MLA said that the rope weighing about 2500 kg in his park was missing, it was not found, and even after eight months, the accused was not caught. He said, "I saw the SP recovering some SIM cards. There is no clue of my item worth Rs 10 lakh. I have seen many SIM cards and videos of it. I watch SP on TV. Doesn't he have any responsibility? Am I not a public servant? What should he say when such an incident happens in my house?

“You said your meeting was at 10 am, right? I reached Malappuram at 9.50 am. No programme I start in the morning is ever a minute late. When there are 5 and 10 programmes, after two or three programmes, it will naturally be late. When I called here, I was told that you have to wait for a while, no one has arrived. Ok one tea is the only thing you can drink in the morning, I drank two teas from Malappuram. Today I came here at 10.20 am. I waited here for 27 minutes. I don't have a problem if he didn't come as he is a busy officer. We are willing to wait. But if he did not come thinking that let him sit there, then that is for him to decide. Do you understand. This is not done,” the Nilambur MLA said.

“Do you know Amarambalam Panchayat here in Nilambur? The Panchayat won the state award for building the highest number of houses under Life Mission. The work is blocked citing law. Why? … Once I contacted directly. After that, the panchayat president and all the members met the SP. Agin he cited law.. What is this law? " the MLA said.

Although SP's keynote speech was scheduled after the MLA's speech, the IPS officer summed up the keynote speech in one word and left the stage.
"I'm a little busy. I am not in the mood for a speech. I conclude by offering all my best wishes for this occasion,'' said SP.
