Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of the Opposition in Kerala Assembly, VD Satheesan, on Monday announced that UDF will organise a ‘pluralistic meet’ (Bahuswaratha Sangamam) in Kerala as part of protests against the Uniform Civil Code and Manipur violence. The meeting has been slated for July 29 and UDF allies and various religious organisations will be invited, he informed. UDF has also decided not to invite LDF allies. The move comes after UDF’s coordination committee meeting.

Apart from that, the coordination committee has also decided to organise protests against issues like stray dog menace, fever surge, delay in ration distribution, graft charges against the state government, and alleged silence of the chief minister in various matters. This will be organised from September 4 to 11.

IUML declined CPM's invitation for UCC seminars on Sunday, citing non-invitation to Congress. The CPM has also said that it would attend League events if they invite.
