Man, son drown in Periyar river in Kerala

Malayattoor: A father and his seven-year-old son drowned while bathing in the Periyar River on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Ganga and his son Dharmik.

The incident happened around 5 PM near the riverbank close to their house, a spot they frequently visited for bathing. When the duo failed to return after a long time, locals began searching for them. Dharmik was the first to be found in the river, followed by his father.

Both were rushed to the hospital but were pronounced dead upon arrival. Their bodies have been shifted to St. Thomas Hospital in Malayattoor.
